The cutscene's themselves are structured and shot like short anime sequences too. Soul Workers is basically straight anime MMO (it's literally called an anime action MMO) FFXIV (and arguably BDO) would sit between GW2 and something like Soul Workers. I think it's fair to say that some of the character design in GW2 also has an anime/JRPG style to it as well. I appreciate you agreeing that it does have some anime-look to it. Some people want to play an MMO for raids, dungeons, and massive grinding levels. I love FFXIV, and I still play it, but people are way too blind to see that starting the game new is a complete chore. New players will be at least 5 to 10 levels head of the MSQ, so there no sense of accomplishment or desire to improve or level up since everything will be easy to kill. In addition, it also doesn't help that players now in days gain massive amount of xp that it doesn't feel as rewarding anymore. It's very time consuming and you'll be constantly reminded that you can't do *certain activity, dungeon etc* until you finish MSQ. I don't care how entertaining a story can be, it gets repetitive after a while. There are over 246 back tracking MSQ in the base game. The story is a hit or miss type of situation, and not everyone going like it. Just because you liked the story and got these satisfying results doesn't mean everyone else will.
